Series Outline:

The Big Adventure is a series for nomads, roamers and other wide-eyed dreamers who actually think it’s  fun to abseil down cliffs in a snowstorm or hunt whales in canvas kayaks. A series for people willing to truly immerse themselves in the world around them – to sip tea with Bedouins or even, Tory Islanders. To experience life to the max, diving into it, skiing down it, clambering up it with picks and shackles in the face of a force ten gale.
Each week Manchán Magan will speak to two people determind to  immerse themselves passionately in the adventure of life.

Overview:

The primary focus of the series is anecdotes; first-rate travel adventure stories, which hopefully spark people’s interest in the opportunities for travel at home and abroad. We hear from paragliders, cavers, street painters, festival-junkies, mountaineers, kite-boarding fanatics and reluctant anthropologists who will share their stories of scaling the Eiger, living with pygmies, surviving snowstorms on Carrantuohil.

Contributors

As well as the classic adventurer-types there will be more unorthodox guests – Septegenarian hikers, young gap-year acolytes, brave middle-age mothers, settled fathers remembering their wild roaming years. This series is about people who seek adventure, who embark on journeys of discovery, escape, enlightenment. We want to find out why they do it and what stories they have to tell.
